The CRISPR Index
A curated platform for exploring recent gene-editing research and understanding how CRISPR technology is changing medicine, biotechnology and the way we think about disease.
Read the research.
Then make sense of it.
Browse a curated collection of recent papers from across gene editing. Open any paper to read the research overview, work through a student-friendly research guide, then use the AI Tutor when you want a simpler explanation or need help with the background science.
Build the basics.
Then go deeper.
Start with DNA, guide RNA, Cas9, mutations and gene expression, then explore the wider CRISPR toolbox. Each concept begins simply and adds more detail when you are ready.
Created from curiosity about biotechnology.
My name is Daniel Dominick, and I am very interested in biotechnology and the ways gene-editing technology is beginning to change our world.
When I first started reading research papers in this field, I found them difficult to understand. Many are written by leading professors and researchers for people who already know the science, so even fascinating ideas can feel inaccessible when you are just beginning to learn.
That experience gave me the idea for The CRISPR Index. I wanted to create a platform where people could discover important research, understand the main ideas behind it, and learn how technologies such as CRISPR-Cas9, base editing and prime editing are being used in ways that would have seemed impossible not long ago.
Mission
Make important gene-editing research easier to approach, while showing people how biotechnology is revolutionising medicine, science and the way we understand disease.
